AN EXPERIENTIAL ART INSTALLATION

This exhibit is a culmination of 30 years of interest, study and practice regarding the Universal Circle. It explores the Circle through painting, sculpture and play.
    The Circle is a key form that surrounds and supports us. Whether we are aware of it or not The Universal Circle encompasses our daily lives. It is the basis of the cycles of Time. We experience the Circle through the cycles of a minute, an hour, a day, month, year, decade, a lifetime. These are marked by the rotation and orbit of the Earth around the Sun, and the Moon around the Earth.

     We live moment to moment within the influence of The Universal Circle.  And it is found at the center of many spiritual traditions including the Native American Medicine Wheel, the Celtic Stone Circles and the Buddhist Tangkhas and Hindu Mandalas.
    This installation includes free-standing Directional Gates at the East, South, West and North, The Planets, The Phases of the Moon, and a variety of Paintings and Sculptural Presentation Boxes with the Circle at their core.
    There are considerable costs involved in the execution of this installation experience available for free to the public. I've already spent $2,000 and hundreds of hours creating it. You can join us at the Opening Reception to pick up your reward, meet other participants and learn more about the project on Friday, September 8, 2014, 5-7pm. Otherwise, you will receive your reward in 3-5 weeks unless you have selected an original piece of artwork which will be available at the exhibit.

Why Do You Need Help From this Project Campaign?
What has become clear is, I can’t do this all by myself. A project of this size and scope is a huge undertaking that requires upfront expenditures and unpaid time. In recent years very little funding is made available directly to artists.

 

I need the financial support to bring this experiential  project to the world. It’s bigger than me and it needs more than I have alone to give. I need your help.

 

This is a big project and it needs the time and financial support to focus on it without the distractions of daily business interruptions. The paintings alone take about 20 hours a piece. That’s 1,560 hours, 260 days working
6 hrs a day, 52 weeks, 1 year.
