Craig Rouse

Craig Rouse paints abstract intersections of architecture and mid-century modern style. He creates strong hard-edged structures and applies clean color blocks influenced by his graphic design profession spanning over 30 years. Recently, Craig has taken up the paintbrush again. "I retain some brushstrokes in my paintings as I don't want it to be absolutely perfect," Craig says.

Additionally, Rouse is the sole proprietor of R Design LLC, founded in 2007, a full service graphic design studio specializing in identity and logomarks, print collateral and environmental/signage design. He enjoys creating graphic design solutions for a variety of clients in various industries. Major projects include the signage for Ruffatto Hall and the Gateway on the University of Denver campus, the identity and signage for the BLINK and Rothko exhibits at the Denver Art Museum, and the signage for the redevelopment of The Landmark in Vail.

For twenty years, Craig has been involved in the Denver design community, serving as past Board Member of the local AIGA Colorado chapter. He has been involved as a Board Member and past President of the Design Council, a support group for the Denver Art Museum.

As a designer he is fluent in two- and three-dimensional disciplines. Craig’s design strengths are his creative brand/identity work and developing unique environmental graphics and signage programs for his clients. He has designed and managed numerous large, successful campaigns and sign programs for several Fortune 500 companies as well as many local businesses, campuses and cultural institutions.

Craig lives in Lakewood, Colorado with his wife, Carrie and their studio dog Riley.
